When it comes to menopause, women are getting dismissed by doctors, and their symptoms are ignored. With the subject being largely ignored in medical school and residency, it can be a struggle to find a practitioner who is both knowledgeable and willing to dig deeper and provide the care that’s needed.
Today I’m joined by my friend, Integrative Dietitian and Menopause Expert Esther Blum, to debunk menopause myths and discuss how you can go through menopause like a rockstar. Recognizing the gaslighting and lack of education surrounding menopause, Esther aims to help women with a comprehensive approach that considers mind and body.
In this episode, Esther and I talk about how she came to this work, her experience with alternative modalities like acupuncture, how to start dialing in your diet and lifestyle to improve your symptoms, what you need to know about testing, common menopause myths, the importance of self-advocacy, and more.
